CLI 5250 Cards with IBM PC Support
Updated 01/24/97

  1. If the PC has a sound card or ethernet card using IRQ 5, you must change the settings of this conflicting card to use a different IRQ setting. (the IBM card and software defaults to IRQ 5) In a crowded PC, you can change the IRQ of the IBM card from 2 thru 7, but 5 is the best to use.
  2. Install the 5250 emulation card. Take note of the dip-switch positions.
  3. Install the IBM software, then re-boot the PC into MS-DOS prompt mode.
  4. Type the following command from the DOS prompt.
    C:\EDIT CONFIG.SYS
  5. Edit or add the following commands in the beginning of this file-
    DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\HIMEM.SYS
    DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\EMM386.EXE X=DC00-DFFF
