E5420 RELEASE NOTICE October 5, 2005 ET4000n and ET5000n release notice This is a cumulative release notice for all versions, which have been released to CLI QA since version e5404 was released. Most of these versions were not generally released and represent incremental fixes to code. Version numbers for the two models of terminals are as follows: - e5nnn for ET5000n (example: e5404) - e5nnn.n for ET4000n (example: e5414.2) The versions ("e5nnn" or "e5nnn.n") are used on both the ET4000n and ET5000n terminals ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ COMMON SENSE WARNING NOTICE: ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU TEST ANY NEW VERSION OF SOFTWARE / FIRMWARE WITHIN YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND WITH YOUR APPLICATION SOFTWARE TO ENSURE COMPATIBILITY. Using SNMPADM management tool, add the following registry entry: 'HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\DisableAddressBar' dword: 0 or 1 - Add: New remote management commands to allow installed font to be listed or uninstalled $UNINSTALL FONT$, uninstall user pre-installed font example: $UNINSTALL FONT$ unispace.ttf $LIST INSTALL FONT$, (no parameters), the installed fonts will display in SNMPADM "Message History" - Add: RDP automatic user ID feature (RDP auto-id). Using custom DHCP tags, allows administrator to assign a default RDP user ID based on a custom tag+last octet of IP address of terminal@user domain. (Enable function in Advanced DHCP section of Network tab within Terminal Properties screen) - Fix: Message box would not allow response. If administrator sent message to user using SNMPADM, the message response function would not work properly. - Fix: ASCII terminal emulation non-English language keyboard mapping was incorrect - Fix: compatibility problem with ID Tech mag-stripe reader when numlock is on during boot Verson: E5409 11/10/03 - Add: TermproCE emulation version 1.0.4.102 supports USB printer (LPT2,LPT3,...) - Add: Terminal emulation, TermPro, "connect retry" function added to allow terminal emulation session to be automatically reconnected if session is terminated or fails to start initially. - Add: Add clock to Connection Task Bar - Add: ASCII clear screen function did not work properly- Add: Magtek mag-stripe reader DHCP automatic programming retry count. The default value is "1" - Fix: The list install font function ($LIST INSTALL FONT$) only returned one installed font - Fix: UK 10x key keyboard mapping problem for 5250 emulation - Fix: Termpro terminal emulation copy / paste did not append CR / LF when copy / paste to RDP or ICA session - Fix: PrintScreen and Alt+PrintScreen functions were not sent to host in RDP session - Fix: Termpro terminal emulation copy/paste issue between RDP or ICA session. - Fix: SnmpAdm shadow function would return black shadow screen when used with Windows XP and second shadow session was attempted. This fix must be used in conjunction with SNMPADM version 2.0 build1.87.10 or above. Shadow function on previous versions of SNMPADM will function with this version but the bug is only resolved by using e5412.2 or above and with SNMPADM version 2.0 build1.87.10 or above. - Fix: Magtek mag-stripe reader DHCP automatic programming may fail. The command is now written every time the terminal boots. - Fix: ASCII terminal emulation Line draw problem - Fix: 3270 terminal emulation would lock if mouse was clicked in unformatted area of screen - Fix: 5250 terminal emulation printer session queue may hang randomly Verson: E5412 12/5/03 - Add: Ability to use SNMPADM to import files into the registry which will then be copied as a file to the file system during boot. This feature allows files such as the ICA file: module.ini to be added which can control some esoteric features of ICA. This feature can be used for small patches and other purposes. The maximum file size is 4096 bytes. - example, copy the ICA control file "module.ini" to WCE path "\windows" - prepare file "module.ini" - use SnmpAdm187.13 or above - add new a key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WBT\RegFiles\Module.ini" - add a string value "Filename"="\windows\module.ini" - add a binary value "Data" - click import button from file "module.ini" - click OK button - Add: Additional printer names can added for for RDP/ICA printer mapping. A registry patch is required and available from CLI technical support. This issue has been reported to CLI engineering and a fix will be included in the next release. - Known Issue: ICA7 PNAgent. When the first published application is launched, it is out of focus and must be clicked on or hotkey'ed to, to return to focus.
